TRANSPORTATION GROUP LEADERS DRIVE INNOVATIVE THINKING

June 06, 2019 – Aguirre & Fields has announced the following leadership roles:

EUGENE J. LEE, P.E. will serve as the Structures Group Lead for Aguirre & Fields.  In this role, Eugene will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Structures Group across all Aguirre & Fields’ offices.

Eugene joined the company in 2008, performing structural engineering production, design, and management on design-build projects such as the SH 130 Toll Road, President George Bush Turnpike (SH 161 Phase 4), North Tarrant Express (Segments West & 3A), and the Southern Gateway. He has worn many hats on a variety of challenging TxDOT PS&E, TxDOT Schematic & Environmental, Corridor Development Studies, and municipal projects. Eugene also currently serves as the Office Manager for the Fort Worth office.

An alumnus of The University of Texas at Austin, Eugene actively supports the engineering industry by serving on the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Tarrant County Education Committee and The Infrastructure Advancement Institute (IAI) Technology Development and Implementation Committee. Outside of the office, Eugene’s Longhorn family includes his wife, Kristen, and son, Austin. He is an avid traveler and enjoys playing tennis, golf, bowling, and hiking.

ROBERT S. DOTY, P.E. will serve as the Roadway Group Lead for Aguirre & Fields.  In this role, Robert will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Roadway Group across all Aguirre & Fields’ offices.

Robert joined the firm in 2016 as the Assistant Director of Transportation (Roadway).  His work includes the planning and design of roadways and bridges and includes a wide range of projects including the Cullen Boulevard Roadway and Storm Sewer Replacement (Harris County/City of Houston/University of Houston), US 83 Traffic Control Plans, Tree Mitigation, and Culvert Design (TxDOT), SH 161 Traffic Control Plans (TxDOT) and the Forest Hill Bridge Replacement (HCFCD).

Robert has an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from Vanderbilt University and a master’s degree in Civil Transportation Engineering from the University of Virginia.  Robert strives to serve his community by creating a sustainable environment and by growing the next generation of engineers. He enjoys spending valuable time with his family, and being the team player, he enjoys sports, including tennis.  He also holds the current title of Corn Hole Champion for Aguirre & Fields.

TODD KATTELMAN will serve as the CADD Group Lead for Aguirre & Fields.  In this role, Todd will oversee the day-to-day operations of the CADD departments across all offices, providing support to the CADD Office Leads and ensuring they are properly equipped and staffed.  Todd joined the firm in 2018 as the CADD Manager for the Fort Worth office.  Todd has worked in the transportation and civil engineering industry for over 25 years and has experience in Microstation, Geopak, OpenRoads, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.  Todd’s recent projects include the FM 664 Widening (TxDOT), and Airport Boulevard (City of Austin) projects, as well as multiple others.

Todd is active in his church and seeks out opportunities to help those in need in his community.  He enjoys perfecting his BBQ pit master skills and getting out on his Harley Davidson.

In these roles, Eugene, Robert, and Todd will provide technical advice, ensure quality assurance, lead office staff through monthly projections, and support our Communities and R&D groups while providing a fun and professional environment that promotes innovative thinking.
