| The City of Round Rock required…. detention pond in wetlands area, …RYAN WILLIAMS TO PROVIDE The original design for the detention pond included berms, however the design resulted in an increased impact on the environment ???? due to ????? wetlands? Designed custom CIP single box outlet structure through pond berm as an alternative to multiple standard precast boxes. CIP single box outlet structure was less expensive to construct than fabrications and installation of multiple precast boxes. The reduced environmental impact area of detention pond reconstruction in wetlands with structures by replacing berms with weir and retaining walls.  Structures were more expensive than original berms, but the project was able to proceed due to reduced environmental impacts. The increased scope of CIP concrete work compared to the original concept should allow for lower unit prices due to the economy of scale, therefore providing some relief in overall cost increase. |
