Oscar is a detail-oriented structural engineer who is the epitome of our brand’s tag line – an Engineering Innovator. He is a problem solver who is fully invested in the growth and success of our communities. His expertise is known throughout the industry, and he serves as a trusted advisor to employees and clients alike.
In 1999, with little capital and a lot of faith, Oscar started his own company, Aguirre Engineering Consultants. He worked hard, solved difficult structural engineering issues, and gained a solid reputation in the Houston area and throughout Texas, which translated into an influx of steady clients for his fledgling company. His vision was to build a civil engineering consulting and design company devoted to professional, innovative, highly skilled, and responsive service. A short time later, teaming with his colleague Richard Fields, Aguirre & Fields grew from a 6-person business to a company now employing over 130 people across four offices and field sites, and serving communities across Texas and Oklahoma.
Oscar continually searches for ways to improve processes and efficiency at Aguirre & Fields. He comes by this naturally, inspired by his father who was also a structural engineer and loved to solve challenging problems. Years of working both stateside and internationally, Oscar learned and adopted character qualities that helped him succeed; character qualities that he has carried with him to this day. Coupled with his passion for innovation and his emphasis on community benefit, Oscar has shaped the altruistic culture of Aguirre & Fields from its very beginning.
Oscar enjoys cycling and has participated in the MS-150 bicycle ride to raise funds for Multiple-Sclerosis research. Every year he takes part in the Harris County Precinct 1 Street Olympics Fair to inspire young students to learn about engineering through the fun experience of breaking wooden bridges.
