Aguirre & Fields, a leading engineering company in Texas and Oklahoma, is pleased to announce Ryan J. Williams, P.E. as our new Structures Group Lead.
Currently serving as a project manager and structural engineer in our Austin office, Williams’ role will shift to prioritize the growth and development of burgeoning engineers within the firm.
“Project management will still be a part of my duties in my new role, but what I’m really looking forward to is sharing my knowledge with other team leads, project managers, and engineers,” says Williams. “Mentoring our younger engineers is not just critical to their success, but to our own, and is one of the things I’m most passionate about.”
Williams brings over 15 years of engineering and research experience to his new role, which includes managing and designing highways, light-rails, and pedestrian bridges, as well as box culverts, junction boxes, retaining walls, and pedestrian canopies.
“Having the opportunity to work on a variety of projects means I’ve made a lot of connections with both clients and partner firms,” says Williams. “I will continue to cultivate those relationships, while demonstrating to those I mentor the important role they play in our industry.”
For Williams, accepting the role of Structures Team Lead merely formalizes an aspect he views as commonplace at Aguirre & Fields.
“We have a strong history of collaboration and mentorship at Aguirre & Fields,” says Williams. “This is one of the things that differentiates us from many other engineering firms: we are not siloed, and we operate as one group across the company. This cross-department approach lets us better serve, and better bring, the full resources of the company to best serve our communities and clients.”
