Chisolm Trail Improvements

As part of the City of Round Rock’s Master Plan for infrastructure improvements, the Chisholm Trail Road Reconstruction and Parkway Extension project provided drainage relief and increased mobility for the traveling public.

As part of this project, Aguirre & Fields provided all structural engineering services for the widening of this existing 2-lane road to a 4-lane parkway from Sam Bass Road to West Old Settler’s Boulevard. Our team was responsible for the cantilever retaining walls for a water quality pond and an adjoining splitter box. Global stability checks were performed for the MSE retaining walls on the project.

Our team also designed a 12-cell box culvert bridge with light poles and pedestrian sidewalks over Onion Branch Creek. Our work included a floodplain analysis, FEMA coordination for the design over Onion Branch Creek and associated drainage structures, storm drains and water quality facilities, water and wastewater line designs, and Illumination.
