Mike leverages his knowledge of construction engineering, along with years of transportation experience, to effectively and efficiently lead our CEI group. He has a proven record of improving safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction, ensuring projects are constructed in compliance with plans and specifications.
Mike serves as the Director of Construction Services and oversees the day-to-day operations of the CEI group. He is an effective leader and communicator, with a passion to share and discuss ideas for the success of each individual task. He has experience designing, estimating, and managing complex state-let transportation projects, with a proven record of early submittals and innovative, cost-efficient designs. He continually improves our construction management, inspection, record keeping, and schedule review processes– all while promoting innovative thinking and growth to ensure our clients and communities are satisfied with our services. His leadership skills, extensive experience, and relationships with industry and community leaders have helped Aguirre & Fields improve our CEI operations while aligning with our Purpose and Vision.
Mike joined our CEI group in November 2016. Throughout his time with the company, he has taken on an increasing amount of responsibilities, having served as Deputy Director of Construction Services and currently serving as both a Project Manager and TxDOT CEI Community Lead.
Mike’s years of construction experience in the transportation industry equips him with the ability to develop cohesive teams, which provide exceptional and cost effective CEI services to various regions of the state. His passion for construction and providing support to his colleagues drives Mike allows him to lead by example and stay informed now and into the future.
Mike has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from The University of Texas-El Paso and is a proud veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Prior to joining Aguirre & Fields, he worked at TxDOT in the El Paso and Odessa Districts, serving as an engineer on the I-10/SL 375 Interchange in El Paso, among other projects. In 2008, he was selected for TXDOT’s Conditional Grant Program; one of twelve awardees selected statewide.
