tesoro drive bridge over dry creek

san antonio, Texas

Aguirre & Fields designed two residential bridges at Tesoro Drive over Dry Creek.  The project was performed for a private developer of the Tesoro Corporation.  The bridge profile was set to provide one-ft freeboard on the 100-yr water surface elevation after setting the hydraulic opening working in coordination with the Hydraulic Engineer.  Both bridges are three-span, horizontally curved prestressed I-beam bridges with extensive aesthetic treatments.  While the concrete substructure and superstructure utilized standard TxDOT details, a custom steel bridge rail utilizing square tubes was designed for the owner.

Aguirre & Fields was dedicated to finding cost saving measures by optimizing structure type for hydraulic opening and the specific site conditions.
